Building the latest version of samba from source on my Raspberry Pi 5 because whenever I access my share from iPhone or iPad - even though I log in as a registered user - I only have read access.

On a Mac in Finder everything works perfectly well - just like on other Linux/Windows systems.

Hopefully newer SMB version will help.
Or if you guys know what might be the reason - help is greatly appreciated 🙌.

so I'm running Raspbian 64 with the samba from the packet manager and access the shares with iOSes File Manager app. This works for me... I remember that when I created the configuration I found settings specifically for apple environments:

---------- Modernisierungen ----------

vfs objects = fruit streams_xattr
fruit:metadata = stream
fruit:model = MacSamba
fruit:veto_appledouble = no
fruit:nfs_aces = no
fruit:wipe_intentionally_left_blank_rfork = yes
fruit:delete_empty_adfiles = yes
fruit:posix_rename = yes

Not sure if that also affects iOS, but it is worth a shot.
