Analysis: "Genocidal Scorecard" UN report says "Israel is intent on expelling the Palestinians, recolonizing Gaza & turning on the West Bank.

"The 1948 Nakba saw Zionist militias drive 750,000 Palestinians from their homes, carry out 70+ massacres & seize 78% of historic Palestine."

Now is the next, perhaps final, chapter in a "long-term intentional, systematic, State-organized forced displacement & replacement of the Palestinians.”

this has been obvious since the beginning of Israel’s response to the 10/7 attack - that there goal was not really rescuing most of the hostages (there methods did not match a large scale rescue effort) but rather elimination and expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza. This report suggests they will turn next to the West Bank, but I wonder if we won’t see in/formal occupation of Southern Lebanon - what they are doing there is maybe more than “mowing the grass”. So sad and infuriating to see this happening and knowing that my government has been facilitating this genocide. That is a decision by the Biden administration and a bipartisan position - Republican decision-makers would be even more pro-genocidal.

Yes.

Though what "even more pro-genocidal" would look like I find hard to imagine.

(That's not an endorsement of naked psychopathy....)

😫
I think it would probably look like moves to formally support Israel ceasing or occupying Gaza out of national security concerns and using influence with authoritarians in the neighborhood to minimize backlash in the region. United front against Iran, some other backscratching arrangements to deal with displacement of Palestinians.(in what would surely be horrific manner). I’m not a FP expert by any means, but that’s what I imagine they would be doing. You have to remember that this would probably be happening with a simultaneous withdrawal of support from Ukraine, which would completely consume Europe’s attention.

Using the police and the military to attack dissidents and openly supporting Ben Gvir
I take your point, but, imo, that's more an issue of "how fascist". The Republicans are clearly into a total police state. The oligarchs who own both major parties probably ditto.

@calbearo
the Democrats are more cowardly than they are fascist IMHO
Definitely cowardly, but my point is more that their oligarch owners are fascist.

The evidence was overwhelming, even by the 1970s: Bertram Gross's Friendly Fascism, Samuel P. Huntington et al, the Powell Memorandum, Trilateral Commission, James Buchanan et al. etc.

In case of interest, Nancy MacLean's Democ in chains summary:

yes, domestically we would see more pressure against Pro-Palestinian activists. I think Trump would love a Spring of attacking college students and professors.
