The World Health Organization says a mass vaccination campaign against polio in Gaza will resume on Saturday, aiming to reach more than half a million children.
“The current environment in Gaza, including overcrowding in shelters and severely damaged water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure, which facilitates faecal-oral transmission, create ideal conditions for further spread of polio virus,” the WHO statement said.
