In January, UNRWA said at least eight newborns had died of hypothermia in the Gaza Strip in one month alone. Israel was supposed to allow some 60,000 mobile homes and 200,000 tents into Gaza as part of the first phase of the ceasefire deal with Hamas. None of the temporary homes has entered, while only a fraction of the tents have been let in, according to authorities. The truce now appears in jeopardy after Israel halted the release of some 620 Palestinians who were supposed to be freed on Saturday."$
