The Israeli military demolished a mosque in the Palestinian village of Umm al-Hiran in the Negev desert (known in Arabic as the Naqab) on Thursday.
The destruction of the mosque is the conclusion of a decades-long legal battle, with Israeli authorities citing unauthorised construction and arguing that residents were illegally squatting on Israeli state lands.
The area will now reportedly be used for a planned Orthodox Jewish community.
