The Israel State Prosecutor announced on Sunday the opening of a criminal investigation of Sara Netanyahu, the wife of the prime minister, following accusations made against her by an opposition member of the Knesset.

A criminal investigation has been opened on suspicion that Mrs Netanyahu committed criminal offences. The Israeli police are conducting an investigation in cooperation with the Cybercrimes Department of the Public Prosecution.
