Big difference though: the Thinkpad required 2 cross head screws to be unscrewed to remove the whole keyboard (including the integrated power button).

The Macbook a mix of different-length Pentalobe screws, just to open it up. And on the inside, it was Torx, more Pentalobes and all in different length and sizes.

I'm perfectly fine with Torx as it has benefits over cross heads and screwdrivers are widely available.
Pentalobe is just an annoyance and there to keep people from entering.

On a related note:
The owner of the #Thinkpad also complained about it becoming slower and if she should upgrade to windows 11. As windows 10 is supported until October: I advised her not to at this moment. (I also don't know if she could upgrade at all given the requirements for windows 11.)

Running Linux myself, I opted for that, but I can't support her laptop.

Does anybody know of any #berlin based communities that I could point to, that provide #Linux support for not tech-savvy people?

In Reparatur Cafés fragen Leute auch manchmal um software-support. Zum Beispiel mit älteren Rechner (oft mit Windows) die immer langsamer werden.

Im Café gibt es dafür nicht wirklich Platz/Zeit, aber kennt jemand in #berlin einen Verein oder Gruppe, der/die Unterstützung für nicht technisch begabten Personen bei der Installation von (zum Beispiel) #Linux gibt?

Das wäre dann schon das 3. Mal, dass ich von Topio höre. Wüsste schon, dass sie Handysachen mit /e/os und Lineage OS machen, nicht von Linux Unterstützung.
Vielleicht wäre es dann sowieso gut mal vorbei zu schauen.
