On the contrary, most of the progressive news outlets, etc I used to follow on the site are still there. They don't even start a presence on Mastodon to build up a following before departing the now-home-hearth of the neo-Nazis.

So, would you say they are truly progressive, understand what that means, behave accordingly, or just pretend to be to capture audience? I would of course myself suspect the latter option 😷

It seems pretty clear that they're worried about losing their large followings. That's understandable, but not to begin a presence on Mastodon is not. Imo.
