I usually check my e-mails only once per day, in the morning. But I never do it on Sundays (because it’s Sunday).

Futhermore, I use the “zero inbox” strategy: as soon as I have done with them, I put them all in my archive folder, so that only new e-mails appear in my inbox folder.

So I can auto-delete "sales this week" messages once the week is over

I get messages from Steam and a couple of local physical stores and they are only relevant for a week
