I just lost a 20+ year old trans friend. She played guitar beautifully, but never seemed comfortable in her own skin. She fancied herself a marxist, partied a little to hearty on booze...had depressive incidents, then they DRUGGED HER, and she lost interest in the world around her; stopped playing guitar on the street here, and 6 month later killed herself. She would have lived longer and happier as an alcoholic. RIP 💖Rosie💖.

These drugs, IF THEY HELP, are an ADJUCT to psychotherapy. They CURE nothing. Theyre STABILIZERS so a psychotherapy has a chance to help. Unfortunately, in AMERICA, psychotherapy costs ALOT OF 💶 over the YEARS its needed, and working class and poor kids have EXTREMELY LIMITED ACCESS to that... until theyre institutionalized. Theyre literally a CHEMICAL BILLY CLUB (as someone described thorazine over 50 years ago), that cures NOTHING in and of itself @revphil @SANKOFAB @foufoutos @specktator_

Nothing AT ALL. Remember Abbie Hoffman? I knew him. He ended up a SUICIDE. Know why? Paul Krassner recounted on newsroom-l listserv what Abbie's first wife Anita told him Abbie wasnt in good health. Had 80% arterial blockage and was depressed. He was precribed prozac. Little did they know that prozac in conjuction with bad circulation CAUSES SUICIDAL THOUGHTS. These chemicals BANDAIDS MIGHT WORK RIGHT on 1% of the users. Ritalin too. Theyre CHEAP INEFFECTIVE SUBS for PSYCHOTHERAPY.

Ps. For DECADES these MOOD MEDS were NOT ALLOWED TO BE PRESCRIBED TO YOUNG PEOPLE b/c EXACTLY what happened to Rosie WAS HAPPENING ALOT. The pharma industry had THAT 'fixed', and if youre a girl with social anxiety because you dont feel comfortable SLUT WALKING, theres ZOLOFT, off-label.

Sorry to but in, but as a diagnosed ADHD and self diagnosed ASD, I'd say the equation goes in the opposite direction. Parents of neurodivergent children tend to be bad parents because they reject their children over their differences, which indeed makes it worse, but it's not the cause of autism or ADHD.

The child I was describing in my deleted post had his overbearing mother sitting nearby. She didn't wince at all when I told him there's nothing really wrong with him, and Ive known a number of moms who literally never let their kids out of their sight unless they were in school. Those kids turned out REALLY fucked up, and you know? The parents didnt trust their kids because they dont trust themselves. A really fucked up society raising fucked up kids @argumento @faab64

Ive known a number of the parents before their kids were born. ONLY ONE out of probably a dozen autistic kids I've known and watched grow up since birth can be attributed to anything other than stupid parenting full of MIXED SIGNALED responses to similar actions and other hypocritical behavior. 5hat one... Jesse, is a chromium casualty. Playing in a creek behind an abandoned machineshop in NorCal at 5 years old. It killed his playmate. @argumento @faab64

Wanna know whats wrong? I was just standing here speaking with a friend, and 3 kids... 12-14, with 2 on bikes, just jacked some cookies from a local shop right in front of us, like a well practiced theft ring. The kid on foot ran in the door, grabbed 3 bags of cookies then hopped on the back of a bike and off they went.

Theyre NOT POOR. The rents here are 3k a month for a STUDIO APPARTMENT, and theyre already becoming thieves, like their rich bitch parents.
