Who'd have imagined 30 years ago that Ronald Reagan - 40th POTUS - would now (in some - centrist - commentary) be seen as a Right-moderate?

If you wanted an example of how the 'Overton Window' works, in the USA, this would be a good one.....

I remember when Reagan was up for election, and a vox pop asking people why they were voting for him: this woman said it was because he was so handsome, and her friend said because he was an actor. The vacuity of those comments seared into my brain. Current MAGA voters have a similar vacuous approach- not policy, not progress, not morals, not business- voting for someone on meaningless irrelevant grounds.

Yeah. I've heard 'he has a nice smile' used for various CONservative PMs, and usually by older women. I want to yell "That's so shallow😱" Guess what, dearies. They're the ones who want to turn you into green bikkies. @ChrisMayLA6
