I can't decide if this is to bully McBride personally because she is in the House, or to keep who she is in the MAGA spotlight in order to endanger her life, or if there really are people who are freaked out, despite the existence of bathroom stalls. After all, we're talking about people whose forebears almost reflexively insisted on separate water fountains and bathrooms for Black people, and who enforced their order with terror.

I think probably all are operative. Some (most?) are hateful and some (most?) are bullies and some (most?) are freaked out by anything or anyone that challenges their precious hierarchies and categories.

I think it's about the bullying. The GOP has essentially said "Give us your lunch money."
