Inhaltswarnung: Children of Dune Book Spoiler

spoiler alert.
That's not really spoiling anything, is it?
only for the people who haven't read it yet.
There! I've added a content warning for the dream I had that isn't at all anything in the actual books!
ha. I wasn't trying to pressure you into that, but your dream is actually an important plot point (believe it or not!)
Well, I do try to mention spoilers. Although it doesn't strictly matter if you know what's going to happen, there's still the enjoyment of first experiencing a book or film when you don't know what's going to happen.

I do believe it. I'm nearing the end of the book. It's a bit of a slow starter but when it gets to the story, it's alright. It's better than Messiah, anyway.

Actually, I kinda like the [above mentioned spoiler]

I think I'd prefer it if he wasn't a child though.
I just ask you to continue on to the 4th book after a suitable break. Beyond the 4th book, it's not strictly necessary to continue unless you're compelled to.
I've got to read book 4 too?

I thought up to 3 would be enough.

As I said, 3 isn't bad but too slow overall.

Messiah is just Paul moping around until the end.

I've written a blog post critique. But I want to finish Children of Dune before I post it.

It has a spoiler alert at the beginning too!
as for the child thing, he is and he isn't. echoes of both Alia and Paul's premature inheritance of their abilities. And in Paul's case, my interpretation is he really wasn't supposed to be the Kwisatz Haderach. He skipped the line (and nearly died in the process). I think Leto was the natural arriving point of the generations of selective breeding.
Yes, it's mentioned in Dune that Jessica tried to create the Kwisatz Haderach too early.
