OK, so dear #Fediadvice

It seems Mozilla are turning horrible with the TOU of #Firefox. We have #Librewolf as an alternative, so I'm looking at that.

But this is the same Mozilla that does #Thunderbird Mail. Are they going to change the rules there too? Email is, arguably, a LOT more sensitive than stuff I do in a browser.

What alternative would be good (on Linux) for IMAP mail if they do that?

Annnnd.... GO!
I was under the impression that Thunderbird was run independently? As in, Mozilla dropped them years ago and they had to find their own funding, set up their own foundation?

Maybe I'm overstating, I see on wikipedia that they're still part of the Mozilla foundation, but they're self-funded, and managed by their own council, elected by "The community", whoever that is
Thunderbird is developed by the MZLA Technologies Corporation.

Firefox is developed by the Mozilla Corporation.

The Mozilla Corporation and the MZLA Technologies Corporation are both under the umbrella of the Mozilla Foundation.
The Firefox Terms of Use do not apply to Thunderbird or any other products, e.g. Appointment or K-9 Mail.
considering what's been going on over at your sister company, Mozilla Corporation, maybe some clear communication on your site about not being part of them? Ideally, but I realise unrealistic, a complete split and relocation to a more human rights friendly jurisdiction? I hear Canada is nice 😉
