Pretty pretty please, can someone start (or help me find learning resources to organize) manpages/docs/forums/feeds/wikis/whatever for a #fediverse #n00b / #newbie re: differing federated services - #mastodon #pixelfed #peertube #loops #lemmy etc? Example: do I need to join multiple instances? Can I cross-populate posts in my other feeds?
Pls where can I #rtfm or facilitate/volunteer for searchable Q&A-sharing forums??? #explaintomelikeiam5 #explaintomelikeim5 #tellmewheretogo #FediverseTips
There are lots of guides for beginners at https://fedi.tips that cover most of your questions.

You don't need to crosspost because all those platforms are on the same social network. Poeple on Mastodon can follow accounts from Pixelfed etc, they don't need to see the posts repeated elsewhere.

You probably don't need to join multiple instances:

Thank you for a starting point!

One more question: Any idea where to look for mastodon #iOS app advanced search operators? Search results have not only not been few but also not relevant.
Especially #grateful to the fellow fediverse folk who #tag posts and #caption images - every small improvement in #accessibility & #usability creates fertile ground for normalizing #searchability !
There are search operators listed at https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-search-for-stuff-on-mastodon which work on the website interface and the apps too.

You can optionally make your public posts searchable by their entire text content (not just hashtags) if you opt into full text search: https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-opt-into-or-out-of-full-text-search-on-mastodon/

In a nutshell, having an account on any of these means you can follow accounts from all of these. The beauty of the fediverse is that all of these server communicate with each other. Want to create videos - Peertube. Want to create photo collections - PixelFed. You are already on Mastodon. If you just wish to follow, view, comment other peoples videos/photos, you are already to go now from Mastodon.

thanks for the info!
My question, though, is actually if I can post PeerTube videos, Lemmy links, (maybe update public NodeBB threads) and add Pixelfed posts from a single ActivityPub enabled server (such as Mastodon.online), or if I'd need to make additional accounts on servers that support those post types... and if so, how do I integrate my different post types into a single feed?
Short answer: you need additional accounts on each server type.

Long answer: Your account can post whatever your server is capable of. If your account is on a Mastodon server, it can post whatever Mastodon posts can do (so that's text with media attachments).

These posts can be seen and displayed by other servers in whatever way the server is capable of, regardless of the server type the posts come from.
