Hello, #FediVerse! I am new here and I am looking for my people so that I can follow them and maybe even have conversations. Are you my people?

I’m migrating from Instagram, where I did more lurking than posting. It’s taking me some time to find my way around over here.

I’m particularly interested in finding #Horse people, and people who are into #ClickerTraining, #PositiveReinforcement, and #AnimalBehavior. I worked in #AnimalRescue for five years, but man is that a hard, draining career. I am currently recovering from pretty severe burnout. But I still love my local #AnimalShelter.

All of my horses are #Adopted because hey, I was in a position to provide them a home when they needed it. No shame if that’s not how you got your horse(s) - I just find that if I think too hard about looking for another herd member, the universe provides. So I try not to think that too hard, because the ones I have now are plenty! :P

My #horses are varied in size from a tall #Percheron to a chonky little #Haflinger, and all in their mid-twenties. They live with me at a rural #HousingCooperative and kindly allow themselves to be petted and played with by local community members in an outreach program that I started this winter. It’s still a pretty small endeavor. We’ll see where it goes. I’ll probably post about that sometimes.

I hope this reaches you, #HorseLovers and #ClickerTrainers! Also, anyone else who wants to say hi! There is a long list of other topics I may post about in my bio, so I won’t list everything in this already rather long post. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

#Fediverse where "everyone" can run their own little server and be a little Trump/Musk, censoring anyone for whatever reason they choose, no explanation necessary.
Then if they run off to another server and criticize this practice the owner can blackmail another of blocking and erasing criticism or be dropped from federated network.

#Fediverse should be rebranded #FediDictators a distributed censorship scheme that will eventually make corporate social media appear more "democratic".

Because rich people can buy a voice that is heard across millions of ears, and read statements polished by dozens of expert writers.

When we attempt the same, 10 people in mastodon hear us and we tend to make so many mistakes that leave half of what we said unread.

28 Days Later (& What a Week!)

This past week has been tremendous in terms of Fedi releases.

It began on Monday with the release of the Comfy Collaborations album by various artists which was eloquently reviewed by @inpc.

Then came two excellent single releases: Dancing and Kissing by Bitplanes (@bazkie) and Cities by @sknob.

The week was capped off perfectly with the launch of @meljoann’s latest album, Status, which included a well-attended live streamed launch party.

This super release week also marked the fourth week since NHAM launched as an online music platform for Fedi artists who distribute their music on Fair Platforms. We’ve now been live for 28 full days and astonishingly we’re averaging unique daily visitor numbers well in to four figures already!

It’s testament to the thriving and growing indie music scene in the Fedi and on the fair platforms.

A huge thank you to everyone involved and everyone supporting, listening, watching and reading!
