In response to a Reddit post asking for #Fediverse alternatives to #Facebook that AREN'T Friendica or Pleroma: I just discovered [socialhome](https://socialhome.network/) that is federated with #ActivityPub so you can see #Mastodon and #Pixelfed and #Lemmy content in a more attractive display. It's still not the same as Facebook - I don't know if anything will ever be polished enough for the normies to switch.

2/2 If you think about it, #Facebook is actually several apps in one - chat, photo sharing, news feeds, events, groups, marketplace, etc. The more of those features you can replace with different apps to meet those needs, the better. I use sites like eBay, Craigslist, Signal, WordPress, Inoreader, Evite, and other Fediverse apps to *do less in Facebook* but it's still the only way I'm gonna keep touch with my cousins and my high school class. Doing less in there is a good start. #deletefacebook

It should be more about: if you don't need to be there, find somewhere else.
That said, keep hunting for similar apps? Also, why are so many decent people still on X?
