We never forgive nor forget ("ni oubli, ni pardon" in french), but seems to me that the best way not to stumble into mental illness is to preserve a fair share of joy, even if we live in priviledged european, hence capitalistic and colonialist, societies. Otherwise, we would be lost for the cause, anyways
Not every one can act, because of so many reasons, including taking care of the world and the people right in front of us in our daily life, isn't it ?

You have to do both. Care about locality and also about those you'll never meet, with the same intensity.
