I just posted a question - who owns #Bluesky? - to my fellow Marxists (who for some reason are all on bsky) with a link to this post by @mastodonmigration. I only have 50 followers so I made sure to tag one person I would expect to respond. The post got zero interactions, which surprised me. Is it possible that Bluesky shadow bans this kind of talk? (No snarky comments. I find them boring) https://mastodon.online/@mastodonmigration/113918378013302932

So, in our ongoing investigation into... Who Actually Owns Bluesky? ...there is a new mystery to solve. Three weeks ago the tech press was reporting #Bluesky was about to close a new funding round led by Bain Capital which would value it at $700M.Mastodon

Boosts and favorites one order of magnitude greater on mastodon, plus lots of comments vs none.
(Very small, but quite dramatic example. I have some friends having a good time on Bluesky, apparently a lot of climate scientists still there)

Self-defining Marxists, or people for whom Marx is their dominant theorist, often seem to be stuck in time I have the feeling. From my admittedly shallow understanding of Marx, much of it has been somehow integrated into many movements by now.
Most Marxists I've met don't even really seem to care about FOSS for example.

I guess we need to work on all fronts: improving technical literacy/understanding, improving protocol and clients and bringing people over.
