Various German kings and emperors slumber beneath the hills and mountains. But one day they shall rise again!

(Which I personally interpret as a threat, by the way.)
this was my first thought, too, and yes it's a definite threat xD
especially if they all do it at the same time :D
Kingslayer becoming a whole heroic vocation like vampire slayers lol

"You want another hundred year war? This is how you get a hundred year war." All the former kings in all the countries, at the same time :D

... this would be a cool premise for a fantasy novel.
Or an epic #ttrpg campaign.
There is actually a classic Hungarian novel with this premise, a general from the Ottoman Wars returns in the late 19th century. It was written as a satire, and it is highly entertaining as the great national hero encounters technology and politics... :D
Including the multiple copies of the same emperor.

Yeah, the tropes are fairly similar - though I feel Germany has more variety.

I've seen stories about Charlemagne, Barbarossa, Henry the Fowler, Henry IV, Otto IV, Louis the Pious, Widukind, King Dan (the mythical founder of Denmark), and Arminius (he of the Battle of the Teutoburger Forest fame).

How many different Sleeping Kings does the UK have?
The Irish have the Fianna. Hungary has King Mátyás, Attila the Hun, Prince Csaba, St. István, St. László, Hunyadi, Rákóczi, Kossuth, Petőfi (the latter is actually a poet :D )
Poets have long been connected with magic power.
