One of the human freedoms is the ability to choose with whom to speak and engage. The Fediverse allows you to have your own space, or a shared space with like-minded people. It lets you choose who you want to interact with and who to avoid.
True free communication can only be in your own hands and federated.

Not when you or your friends are banned without even conveying why.
This behavior of the tiny little dictator wannabes, owners of servers, removing all content when it deviated from their sect of ideology.

@stefano
this is true. But, at least, you can host your own instance and federate.
I can't afford one or I would
and if I did I'd be a bit more democratic about banning someone or even restrict their expression.

As the climate has formed #fediverse just appears as a rich neighborhood of homeowners, federated, but really nasty to people passing through.
quoting Stefano
"The Fediverse allows you to have your own space, or a shared space with like-minded people"

if you can't have your own space
(if you're technical, you can host at home, if you're not technical, it can cost some money/month to have someone else do it for you, or for a small group)

you can have a shared space with like-minded people, i see that you are on a relatively small instance, i hope that that specific community is good for you.

I mean, so far fediverse, is the best you can have
do you know the reason when you or your friends are banned by the huge big dictators wannabes, owners of the commercial social networks, removing all content when is deviated from their sect of ideology ?
I can suspect the reasons, on this last by mastodon.social it was for being attacked by someone calling me a russian propaganda spam bot. But there was no response to why.
On climate.justice was because I mentioned somewhere the term autistic behavior, which is "ableist' language. Again no 2nd chance. Kafeneio.social was simply so they can remain in good fed/terms with climate.justice.

The attitude is the same, "this is private property, I don't have to justify a reason for throwing you out"

If it was m-l type of dictators I could understand, it would have been expected behavior, after all they wouldn't really be m-l if they respected any individual liberty.
