To the sourcing questions, Dae a local reporter and activist posted the above alert to their socials based on TikTok videos showing these patrols.
From my read on the situation is fairly uncommon to see reports of uniformed ICE officers in Seattle proper and locations like Queen Anne are especially unusual. These were not raids, just 1-2 marked ICE vehicles. Also likely is that the same 1-2 vehicles may have been sited in all of the listed locations.
This sounds like local officers "taking the initiative" both as a show of force but also to gauge community response and measure the freedom of movement of ICE patrols.
There are rumours circulating of large ICE raids expected starting today in a 6-10 major US cities, I've read some of the Trump EOs and this seems likely but timeline seems fast(today will tell).
Seattle is rumored to be a slightly lower ICE enforcement priority but we're rumored to be slated for ICE raids in the coming weeks.
Overnight Trump signed dozens of executive orders one of which shutdown the app which migrants use to manage their immigration interview dates. The app has already reportedly cancelled ALL pending interviews.
Also overnight protests were held in Portland at an ICE regional office, bc if ICE is too busy dealing with protesters at their HQs that means less resources making it out to raids.
Oh YES! What better way to defend our friends and neighbors rhat to go on offense and take the fight right to ICE's door.
This doesn't have to stop at the office eirher. ICE agents live someplace and residential protests can probably force them to move. A couple rounds of this and they may quit ICE.
