Sometimes #polyamory is hard. It's confusing to navigate, difficult to understand, and finding people who actually share your beliefs and want the same things as you often makes dating feel exhausting.

But the thing is, monogamy is no different. Navigating and understanding monogamous relationships was just as complicated. I just didn't have the language to express it.
The reason people believe that monogamy is "easier" is because there is a societal structure built around the idea of "a relationship" that buffers us when things get hard and tells us what we are supposed to do so we don't have to think about it too much. 
 
With polyamory, we step away from those supports. It's not harder; we're just forced to face the truth about how difficult relationships can be.
