Someone brought up the idea of using a VPN for the router & a diff VPN for the device & im all for it.

Thread on here about it. Cross talk between separate companies exceedingly unlikely, etc

I always recommend @mullvadnet, since they don't require an email address to sign up (VPN services that do are able to collect and sell your usage data by correlating it with your email, and are likely doing exactly that) and take a flat $5 / month for unlimited use of 5 devices.

They also accept a variety of payment options, from credit card (least anonymous) to cash sent in the mail (most anonymous), and their mobile and desktop apps are easy to use.
