The United Nations was established to ensure world peace and suppress acts of aggression. It has failed us for eighty years.
The reason for that failure is the attempt of the framers of the UN Charter to protect the Imperialist ambitions of five founding nations through the Unanimous Consent clauses of the charter. There is an exception to the Unanimous Consent rule which is intended to protect against abuse of Unanimous Consent. A permanent member which is party to a dispute must abstain from voting.
It is time to enforce Article 27 Section 3 and it is time to take the steps necessary to amend the UN Charter to eliminate the Unanimous Consent clauses.
