Clinton is directly responsible for the failed peace process. He committed himself to a Palestinian State, and in spite of Zionist leaders saying they would never accept a Palestinian State of any kind, in his speech he blamed the failure of the process exclusively on the Palestinian leader.

He listed a series of promises, some that are known to be lies, and blamed Arafat for not accepting the peace deal when in fact he did.

The so called "Peace process" has been denounced by most Palestinian factions but Al Fatah (Araffat and Mahmoud Abba's organization, the largest one for decades and that still holds the so called "Palestinian Authority"). It implied renouncing the liberation of all of Palestine and settling for about 22% of the land, something that was considered a betrayal to the cause by many and that gave Hamas a bunch of legitimacy.

Clinton lied about "a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem"...

...it has been denounced that such "Palestinian capital" was NOT going to be in the city of Jerusalem, but on a small town nearby, in an administrative demarcation named by Israel "East Jerusalem". So, as far as that goes, Clinton lied in front of an audience that applauded and cheered.

He blamed the whole derailment of the "peace process" on the Palestinian side, as if Israel didn't break any accord, any UN resolution. As if Israel didn't continue it's "mowing the grass" operations in Gaza...

But it goes even worse. Not only he insisted that the violence started on October 7 (as if there was no intifada or second intifada, no Great March of Return, no ever expanding illegal settlements on the West Bank). He insisted that the murdering of Palestinians was justified on two grounds. First, the anger of the Israelis, their thirst of revenge, and then on the documented lie that "Hamas hides behind human shields".

And that was it. "I understand that for some Arab Americans too many people have died", he said, and he proceeded to explain why they were wrong. Why even if they FEEL like it, the need of revenge of the poor people that lived alongside the Gaza border ("world's largest open air prison") who according to Clinton were "the most pro Palestinian" Israelis, who wanted a two State solution so badly and yet they were murdered they get to have their revenge and to decide when it's "too many".

He also said that the whole peace process needed to be restarted from scratch. A naïve person might think that this is a goodwill comment, as in "we are working tirelessly for a ceasefire", but in fact it means breaking all commitments they agreed on with the Palestinian side and re-starting negotiation in an incredibly worse situation for the Palestinians, with a two State solution being imposible on account of all the settlements on the West Bank and the destruction of Gaza.

Lastly, it's very important to underscore that all this happened in an official Harris-Walz campaign act. No one can keep pretending that Harris will be "better for Palestine" if the speakers at her official campaign acts are justifying a year of genocide and blaming it on the Palestinians and on Yasser Arafat.
