SBS news headlines /prioritises dutton’s thoughts on a serious matter before they go on to discuss the current government’s thoughts .. for some reason that makes no sense at all.
is spud’s opinion of elbow more important than elbow’s opinion of mump? did gina make a phone call or sumfin?

also, i would like to see dutton do better at pigeon chess with the ferret-headed knob.

what are we doing about insulating us in the future from the consequences of putting all our eggs in one basket? that’s what the entire world wants their respective governments to explain

'Shocker': Dutton accuses Albanese of 'incompetence' following Trump's tariff decision

Is it only Steel & Aluminium? Surely we could find another market?
As for #Temu_Trump He's got his bmx gloves and kneepads on, all ready to crawl to his idol. Even Little_to_be_proud_of would balk at that sort of grovel, maybe.
Thugs like tRump don't respect grovellers any more than people who stand up to them. He believes Australia will be a pushover anyway.
Gina could have fattened SBS's coffers.
absolutely. he has no respect for anyone, and even less for grovellers.
Wonder how much people’s personal finances will be affected? Superannuation, investments.
the whole world will be affected. trump is destroying the global economy, not just the US. an important element of economic decision making is <confidence>. when the US stock market takes a hiding (which it has) stock prices elsewhere are affected (see e.g. SMH headline 4 hours ago)

textbooks tell us economics is all about land labour and capital, but an understated often neglected factor is time. if trump was impeached and pushed out of office tomorrow it would still take 12 months to undo the damage.

3 <rust belt> states that used to vote democrat used to be big steel producers. i think 🤔 this is part of the “appeal”. it’s nuts. structural adjustment started more than 10 years ago - those areas cannot go back to what was before — let’s say the us stops importing cars (cos, tariffs) - to increase local production of cars again would require three years of planning. if construction slows cos the US economy is collapsing inwards, builders will not be ordering steel… and so on.

“we” need to grow up and move on, not sit around sucking up to a sociopath

is steel that important to australia? yes and no, but it’s the mindset and confidence of australian;s in the whole economy we need tolook after, and so on. spud likes to think every problem is simple. only simple people think complex problems are simple.
