Looking over the northern end of the ocean baths on a grey and windy day. Lots of white waves breaking behind the pump house, some of them over the back wall of the baths. The red and yellow surf life saving flag is flying so the baths are officially open to swimmers. Gulls congregate in a more sheltered triangle of shoreline next to the raised baths concourse.
Poesie
It was a bit too swishy in the main pool today, so went in the shallower pool.

Depth there is variable - at one edge it's ankle deep but over half is waist to chest deep (if you're 5'4" like me). Lap swimming is possible but was water walking for me.

Water was lovely mild temp but less fun when exposed to the wind afterwards.

Looking northwards over the shallow pool towards the Bar Beach headland. The water is grey and heavily textured by the wind but with a few twinkles of sunshine. Grey skies with a little white peeking through. The arm of a lap swimmer doing freestyle is raised out of the water at the other end. The only bright colours are from the red and yellow surf life saving flag flying.
