An opportunity just dropped to support the re-election campaign for our local MP here in #canberra

Do you support being represented in parliament by a low-profile, careerist passenger?
- Who fails to represent the values of Canberrans with respect to the #Genocide in #Gaza?
- Applauds the State Capture of #Australia by the #FossilMafia ?
- Sits on her hands while the deliberately terrible #NACCtheNACC is stood up and fails to deliver?
- Does nothing while new coal and gas mines are approved during a #climatecrisis ?
- Attacks the #Greens and progressive Indies for their calls to take meaningful action on the #housingcrisis instead of stupid punts on the stock market like the HAFF?
- Sits idly by while #whistleblowers are persecuted yet Zionist war criminals are protected and feted by our appalling Attorney General?
- Politely averts her gaze from the gifting of our sovereignty to an increasingly rogue United States?

Then do I have an event for you, #auspol !! You can even pay the 'solidarity' price in recognition of the due process and solidarity not afforded by the political wing of the union movement to the #CFMEU after they starred in a Channel 9 TV show.

(More seriously, I'd be genuinely interested to see if anyone turns up to this. Also, I can gob off like this confidentshe only has social media accounts on the terrible platforms (X and Meta) - of course. Can't even tag her on Mastodon. Ugh).

I cannot wait till the era of 'safe seats' is officially behind us.

@smitjo I received the same invite. Was going to send my thoughts in return but it only aggravates me, and is pointless. I’ve written before with no response.
I've been more than a little disappointed with Dr Leigh too. And he's never responded to any concerns I've raised with him with anything other than a "but look how good we are" vanilla response. I don't bother contacting him anymore and certainly don't vote for him (other than to preference him above the RWNJ candidates).
Likewise. He used to be my local member before Fenner was created. I tried to engage him on Labor's appalling treatment of asylum seekers and received anodyne responses from staffers in reply.

Now I just shakes me head while he champions charities instead of making them redundant via raising the support for social services.

You know the ALP is cooked when two of what the Libs would call 'moderates' (Payne and Leigh) are somewhere to the Right of Malcolm Fraser. Kind of highlights the myth of Canberra being a 'progressive' jurisdiction when we vote these people in when there are alternatives like the Greens and genuinely progressive Indies available.
yep, I'd written to him a number of times about the Australian women and children that have been abandoned in Syrian camps. The replies were pathetic.
Slightly related: I write to David Smith, my local member, from time to time, complaining about Labor's shitshow. Never an answer. But today I got a birthday pro forma letter for my 70th, telling me I was a valued member of the community. Left hand not talking to right hand. He can shove his birthday letter, I'd rather have an answer to my emails!
