The raspberry jackét (rhymes with “beret”) is done! I’ve ordered snaps for the cuffs, but all the sewing is done and I bashed the front snaps on successfully. It’s in the wash now and I’ll wear it tomorrow morning!
I started with a 400 meter spool of the blue and there’s less than a hundred meters left. Quilting took a ludicrous amount of thread! But it was very satisfying, both the quilting and the construction.
It’s already very soft and warm, but I’m hoping it’ll be even nicer after a wash and dry.
Tomorrow, I’ll probably take my machine apart as much as I dare and clean it, poor thing. All those jeans and now this!
I really love this one and I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it. The only thing I’d change is to cut the panels a bit bigger and add a split hem. And the seam allowance! It’s 3/8” but that’s nerve wracking. If I make this again I’m adding a quarter inch to all the SA.
