Thanks! Continuing to learn. Right now I'm trying to figure out why a bunch of posts showed up in my feed this morning...in different languages? Looked into filtering....but couldnt figure that out...LOL it's a learning curve alright! :)

It relies on people choosing their posting language correctly. (There used to be an automated system, but it had problems due to very short posts being difficult to detect the language for.)

If there is someone consistently posting in a language you don't speak, and the language filters aren't stopping them, you might want to mute them (more info on muting: https://fedi.tips/blocking-and-muting-on-the-fediverse).
