Tonight (Wed November 13) at #Austin Public Library, Central Branch, join me and many others for Bike Story Night. I'll be a featured storyteller, talking about being a journalist on an ebike and about my work and what inspires it.

The event is free and starts at 7:27pm.

A photo of Kit, a white nonbinary person in a deep blue romper. They have one hand in their pocket and the other leaning on the handlebar of a white and black folding ebike. Their wavy brown hair falls around their shoulders. Behind a railing in the background, is the rippling water of Austin's Town Lake and the skyline of downtown under a partly cloudy sky.
A black and white fat-tire folding ebike in front of an ornate colorful sculpture, part of which looks like an organic archway, with tentacular protrusions around it.

“There are really serious implications for LGBTQ communities in states where we’re seeing more severe restrictions from the legislative side. It also emboldens folks to go out and harass LGBTQ people, trans and gender non-conforming people within their own communities.”

In my latest for Austin Free Press, I took #GLAAD data on hate incidents and looked at how bigotry has manifested in Central #Texas. Incidents have included assault, protests, and even a murder. https://austinfreepress.org/legislating-intolerance-anti-lgbtq-legislation-tied-to-massive-rise-in-hate-incidents/

Flyer for Bike Story Night at Austin Public Library. The logo is a bicycle with a microphone attached to the rear wheel which also has a yellow crescent moon inside it. The cord of the microphone becomes the road the bicycle is riding on. A city of Austin and Austin Public Library logos are also present, as is an image of Toad from Frog & Toad riding a bicycle loaded with books. This is the logo of the APL Reading Riders.

Event date: Wednesday, Nov 13 from 7:27pm until 10pm at Austin Public Library, 710 W Cesar Chavez St. All ages. ADA accommodation, call 512 974 7400
