Solar energy is set for a rapid expansion – but only if several barriers are overcome, according to new research.The Conversation
The fact that we have to pass right-to-repair laws says a lot about our unsustainable throw-away culture of ubiquitous plastics and electronics.
But if we *made* that culture, we can *unmake* it. Partly with legislation, partly changing consumer attitudes.
My (informal) phone survey said over 50% of folks would keep their phones longer if updates weren't forced by planned obsolescence.
People are ready for less consumerism.

1- what do you see as the biggest ways the #Internet potentially *contributes* to #ClimateChange ?
2- what do you see as the ways the Internet can help address #climate issues or find solutions?
For me I think for 1 it’s the general need for electricity, and specifically power(and water)-hungry data centers. For 2 it’s remote working, and the sharing of ideas, research, sensors.
