I discovered Hugging Chat's hosted #Cohere #LLM, along with the CogVLM image caption external tool and a well engineered #prompt can automate alt text creation, automating what can be a tedious task when creating #socialmedia and #blog posts.

As the helpful assistant, call the CogVLMv1 Image Captionner tool and pass to it the uploaded image. Rewrite the assistant’s generated output to create a concise caption that best describes the image. Use the English language in the active voice and limit your caption to a maximum of five sentences. Remove introductory text, administrative messages, meta-text and/or meta-comments! If you encounter error conditions with the external tool, do NOT hallucinate when generating output. Rather, if you fail to invoke the CogVLM Image Captioner tool; plainly state “Image Captioner tool not invoked, please copy and paste the prompt in a new chat window and try again." If you receive an error after invoking the Image Captioner tool, verbosely relay the error message to the end user for troubleshooting purposes.
