Alaa's mother, Dr. Laila Soueif has been hospitalised

"The mother of jailed Egyptian-British dissident Alaa Abd el-Fattah was taken to hospital on Monday night as she neared the 150th day of a hunger strike in protest against her son's imprisonment in Egypt.
Laila Soueif, 68, who has lost nearly 30 kilograms in weight since starting her fast in September, was admitted to St. Thomas' hospital after her blood sugar dipped to worryingly low levels"

#freealaa

EFF joined international human rights groups in sending a letter directly to the UK Prime Minister urging immediate action to secure the release of Alaa Abd El Fattah, a British-Egyptian writer, technologist, and prisoner of conscience.

His mother, Leila Soueif, has been on a hunger strike for 100+ days, demanding the UK government intervene to free her son. Time is running out. #FreeAlaa https://madr.network/open-letter-the-uk-government-must-act-now-to-free-alaa/

RT @accessnow
Alaa Abd el-Fattah must be freed!

With his mother, Laila Soueif, on a critical hunger strike for over 80 days while he remains unjustly detained in Egypt, the UK government must act now.

@Keir_Starmer + @DavidLammy, it’s time to #FreeAlaa.
