Well, heck, Pittsburg, Kansas Dems protest Saturday got a shout-out on Rachel Maddow's show!

You can see me, very briefly, in our quarter-screen box, wearing my protest shirt ("Pro Black, Pro Brown, Pro Trans, Pro Queer, Pro Muslim, Pro Facts, Pro Choice, Pro Science") and a black Greek cap, standing in front of our Crawford County Dems HQ.

Someone more technically savvy than I might be able to get screenshots, but we're six minutes in.

What a world.

Out chanting and sign-waving with the local Democrats for #InternationalWomensDay and along with all the old standbys - "Whose Streets? Our Streets." and "Hey Hey Ho Ho Elon Musk has got to go!" and "No Trump No KKK No fascist USA" and "Our Body Our Choice" - we added a whole new ... thing.

"Canada Is Our Friend!"

Yes, Canada, the Democrats of Crawford County, #Kansas, stand with you.

As Woody said, it's bizarre that we have to say that, but here we are.

“There are 444 counties in the United States classified by the United States Department of Agriculture (is that still around?) as “farming-dependent,” which is defined as counties where either 25% of its earnings come from agriculture, or 16% of the workforce works in farming.
Donald Trump won 433 of those counties, with an average vote of 77.7%. Over 100 of them gave Trump 80% or more of their vote.”

“A federal foreign food aid program with a Kansas legacy and an uncertain future could be saved by Congress under a bill championed by.
U.S. Rep. Tracey Mann and U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran, both Kansas Republicans… who introduced legislation to save Food for Peace. The 70-year-old foreign food aid program…, would be moved from the shuttered U.S. Agency for International Development and into the U.S. Department of Agriculture.”
