Seen in a thrift store today. Some engineer, somewhere, on some machine, designed a bolt so inaccessible that it requires this abomination, a two-foot long 19mm socket with a hex drive.

19mm socket with a very long hex shaft permanently attached sits, forlorn, on a thrift store shelf.

Toilet lock in a train
- mixes different functions (lock and emergency release) on the same interface (twister)
- despite primary function (lock) being ancient (I.e. extant #affordance), the mix of functions means signage required
- instead of labels at twister positions, a diagram of the lock/release is recreated directly above it
- the diagram lacks visual symbols and Braille

Why is this still happening? How do we make it stop? How do I get less annoyed about jt?

Photo lock/release and sign as described in more detail in main post. The sign is in blue with white text, except the emergency release text which is red. The diagram positions are numbered, and the numbers have a key in German and English. The twister is T-shaped, rounded and aluminium.
