Does MDMA damage the brain's white matter?
White matter forms the bulk of the deep parts of the brain and affects learning and brain functions. Animal studies have suggested that chronic MDMA use can degrade white matter.
Luckily, this new study in humans compared 39 chronic MDMA users with 36 non-users and found no evidence of white matter degradation in the MDMA users.
