Disappointed to hear that the University of Alberta, in isolation and without communicating with the swimming community in Alberta, suddenly and without reasonable explanation, cut the varsity swim team which has existed for many decades.

The crushing notice to the team members came just at the start of midterms.

Team members have reported being cut off from team social media accounts and instructed not to comment on social media.

Alumni have not been informed directly.
