Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones compares a disabled person losing on average £4,500 a year on their benefits to docking his kids' pocket money and telling them to get a Saturday job. Norman Tebbit would be proud.

Photo from across the street of a group of about 30 people standing in front of Ian Murray MP's office, with a big handpainted banner reading "If you exploit us we will shut you down" - other signs read Austerity Kills (with anarchist A), #WelfareNotWarfare. There are some wheels behind the banner so not everybody was standing.

Well, we all knew the press reports of "serious disquiet in the Cabinet" or whatever were total bullshit, but here's Ed Miliband confirming he's been bought off (from ITV News):

'I support what Liz Kendall is doing'

Ed Miliband says he backs government plans to cut benefits, despite reports he voiced concerns about them in Cabinet.

Oh fuck. Now I agree with Kwasi fucking Kwarteng.

From an interview on Peston last night:

“I think a government that was serious about looking at reductions in the round would look at the triple lock”

I know it's childish, but I really am enjoying world leaders making Keith look like the desperate, gullible glory seeker that he so obviously is.

Only member countries will be able to access the money, which must also be spent with EU-based companies, ruling out suppliers in the UK, Turkey and the US"

He's really got a taste for shooting stuff now.

"Starmer participated in the raids on Yemen for the first time since Labour took power, although the RAF did not announce its involvement."

Really feeling this again today, particularly the line about Wes Streeting being "someone who looks like Starmer's son he made out of margarine".
It's difficult to comprehend how mental health conditions can be "overdiagnosed" when it's a matter of considerable record that it's almost impossible to get a mental health assessment in the first place. Facts don't matter I suppose.
