i think we have lost the memory of how normal no contact used to be. growing up in Cali i have met so many people who openly admitted that they “lost” contact with their families. I’m starting to think it was intentional and just easier in the past. Older generations especially the WW2 and Vietnam vets—the wars changed them & they needed a fresh start.
