A black and white photograph in portrait orientation of Ardvreck Castle, beside Loch Assynt in Scotland. The picture was taken with a wide angle lens, looking up at the ruins of the castle at a steep angle. The remains of the castle visible in the picture are a single structure, the keep, which consists of broken walls and one largely intact tower. In the foreground is a grassy slopes, on which the castle stands. In the background one of the summits of Quinag, a mountain, can be seen. Above the mountain and castle the sky contains some light cloud, which a bright white in contrast to the dark sky behind them.
A colour photograph of the mounain Suilven in in north west Scotland, photographed from the village of Elphin which lies south of the mountain. The picture show the distinctive mountain in the background, with two summits connected by an undulating ridge. The eastern summit, Meall Meadhonach, is steep and pointed; the western summit, Caisteal Liath, is rounded and bumpy, commonly known as a "sugar loaf". Although it is cloudy, the sun is shining dramatically on Suilven through a gap in the cloud. In the foreground are grassy slopes and agricultural pasture, with several trees to the left.
A colour photograph of the view from Knockan Crag in Assynt. In the foreground at the left is an art work called "Globe" by the sculpture Joe Smith, comprised of layers of rock as if in a drystone wall, but made into a spherical globe. Below the Globe a stretch of footpath can be seen. In the middle distance is Loch an Ais. In the distance several mountains can be seen, including at the right of the picture the dramatic summits of Cul Mor.
A colour photograph of a dramatic sunset taken from Inchnadamph in Assynt. heavily clouds fill much of the picture, but the sun has broken through below the clouds and is reflected in the waters of Loch Assynt at the left of the picture. At the right sit the glowering silhouette of Quinag, a nearby mountain which dominates the landscape.
