OMFG… 3yrs waiting, and I’VE GOT MY #AUTISM ASSESSMENT ON 4th DECEMBER!!!!
Sister: how are you feeling?

Me: nervous. I’ll be a bit disturbed if they say I’m not.

Mum and sister proceed to tell me all the reasons that’s not going to happen… like me apparently always wearing the same clothes when I was little. Clearly both enjoying this more than they should! 😅❤️
My sister is turning it into a military operation. Drilling my mum on all the things she has to remember. Digging up her kids’ assessment reports to show the similarities… I really love her!
I found I needed a good reminder of the things that made me clearly Autistic to other people who recognised it.
Otherwise, in my head I was just 'normal' and it was everyone else who was acting wierd, and therefore, when asked, there was nothing unusual from my perspective.

It helped having Sue with me to interject about stuff, and say "Yeah, you do that a lot." etc.
That’s the kind of stuff my sister’s coaching us on :-) She’s been through the process with two of her kids, both AuDHD, both VERY like me, so she’s more used to understanding me as autistic than the rest of the world
That's great. I hadn't read that far up my timeline, when I tooted,to see that.
Best of luck!
