"Tel Aviv now controls the six most important water sources in southern Syria and continues to expand its occupation in the country"
"The Israeli air force launched a violent attack near the Syrian capital of Damascus on 2 January, coming as Israel’s military continues to expand its occupation in the country, reaching a key dam in the southern Quneitra area"
In what way is this a liberation of Syria?

I remember a military officer saying that wars would be fought over water if we didn't seriously address climate change. That was roughly 20 years ago, and, now, it appears to be happening.
But I don't see how Israel can expect to get away with this after the Gaza genocide. Seems that it will only strengthen calls for a 1-state solution, which will end Israel as we know it.

Without wishing to excuse an iota of Israel's criminal excesses, I feel people ought to see Israel, especially the hard-liners who are presently running the place, through their own eyes: cruel and unjust as it is.
Israel doesn't care what anyone thinks, anymore. They count their dead, let their enemies count theirs. After Oct 7, they no longer feel constrained by any semblance of ethical behavior except by their own definition.

Shrug. They no longer care what you and I think of them. It's not as if anyone ever cared about them.

Sorry, not buying the Israelis victim card. Not a justification for any of their egregious crimes against humanity. Israel is a state based on illegality and as such it should be dismantled.
One state solution is the best solution. Two states solution, fine, but on the basis of equal rights. No more Israeli white supremacist system. To hell with that.

Well, the Israelis don't play the victim card either. But the rules of this game have changed a bit, after Oct 7 the Israelis got up and beat the teeth out of their enemies' heads. And they no longer care what the world thinks.
Oh sure, the Israelis weep over their dead, the Palestinians, too. And the Lebanese. And the Syrians.
NotImpressed •
I beg to differ, they do. The Victim Card is their speciality, after genocide and ethnic cleansing. If you say that they don't, I'd like to ask you what planet you're on.
Any sympathy for Israelis is sympathy for genocide, given that their entire population bar a handful of dissidents, is supporting and actively executing (IDF) genocide.

I believe Israel should be disarmed. Arabia & USA can ensure Israeli security. Relying on others may convince them they are safe.

The US has shown itself to be completely at Israel's bidding and unreliable. It would need to be a UN-led force to be credible.
