In a 172-page report to ICC prosecutor Karim Khan, DAWN also suggested that current President Donald Trump could face “individual criminal liability for obstruction of justice under Article 70 of the Rome Statute” following his executive order sanctioning ICC officials – including Khan – for investigating Israeli officials. “Trump isn’t just obstructing justice; he’s trying to burn down the courthouse to prevent anyone from holding Israeli criminals accountable,” said Raed Jarrar, DAWN’s advocacy director. Jarrar said Trump’s proposal to forcibly displace Gaza’s population “should also merit ICC investigation”. “Not just for aiding and abetting Israeli crimes but for ordering forcible transfer, a crime against humanity under the Rome Statute,” Jarrar said. DAWN has also called for the ICC to investigate Biden’s former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin for their alleged complicity in Israel’s war crimes."
