This should be a terrifying phrase to utter for any Israeli; it should hark back to the Holocaust, and how Germans outright didn't want to know about the death and pain just a few kilometres from their homes.

So close they could smell it, but still didn't want to know.

It's especially egregious to have said view in such an information-rich, interconnected, world
