Dear friends,

Please join us for the Texas Observer’s 70th Anniversary. For 70 years, the Observer has worked to “hew hard to the truth as we find it and the right as we see it.” Now more than ever, it is critical to maintain reporting that seeks not only to inform but to hold power to account. A free and independent media must be a stalwart of truth, unwilling to bend to the threats of tyrants.

I hope you’ll join us to celebrate out history as we prepare for the work ahead. As Molly said, “Keep fightin’ for freedom and justice beloveds, but don’t you forget to have fun doin’ it.”

When: Tuesday, December 3 2024
Where: Scholz Garten, 1607 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin, TX 78701
