#Dune #TV mini series

First impressions: They spent their budget on special effects instead of acting lessons.
#tv #dune
Second impressions: This is supposedly faithful to the book yet has loads of changes including the wrong characters doing things.

The thing about the #Dune #books is that they aren't really about #scifi technology, yet this adaptation begins and it's all about technology.

I suppose they're trying to appeal to scifi fans, but in my opinion it's unnecessary to focus on technology.

Also Jessica is rubbish in this.
Also: the #Fremen look a little too water fat to me ...
They took the non-character of Irulan and made her a more prominent character for some reason.

I'd rather they'd have focused on Jessica more. They really overlooked her character. She's practically done nothing except done some things Leto does in the book.
I kinda want to slap Paul ...

and keep slapping ...

Slap - slap - slap !
I'd say pass on the TV series. It's not really doing it for me. The acting is a bit poor and the characters aren't quite right.

I'm boycotting the most recent movies. I like the book. It's enough.
With the TV series they didn't even bother with people who can act!

I had hopes for the series. The sets looked good so I was expecting it to be half decent.

I thought Helen Mohiam looked cool but she was weak and turned out to be a ballet instructor for Irulan (?)

There were too many unnecessary changes. I think Lynch's Dune did is far better, even though that's quite wrong too. But as least it's got better actors, who look the part.
