Why does K-9 even still exist? Isn't Thunderbird for Android based on it? Seems a bit redundant.

We had some K-9 users who really liked the robot dog branding, which is why we kept it for a bit longer!

I use K-9 Mail . I think that it is the same (the second icon).

K-9 Mail and Thunderbird share a code base right now, just with different branding!
