How are we all managing another Monday?

#Today
Definitely had worse ones 👍
You?
Whizz whizz whizz.
So much whizzing it's now today, which at the time was tomorrow.
All my troubles seemed so far away.
Lawks! The things you miss while you're asleep 😬
Hope you found a place to hide away.
Wherever I hide they always find me 😔
😢

You need Santa to bring you some camouflage lessons.

"How To Be Mistaken For A Selection of Household Objects in Ten Easy Steps"

That kind of thing.
To be clear I was sometimes very good with my hiding.
Every year I would fall for it, the annual school outing. Teacher would tell us all to hide, and I would. Sometimes it was the sound of the school bus pulling away that would bring me out, others I would stay hidden until lunchtime.
It always ended the same, me alone, as usual, while everyone else went and had fun.
Now see, what you were missing there is a proper strategy for when to hide and when not to.
Cross-country running is a good time to find a suitable redoubt. School trips, not so much.
Although I suppose it depends where the trip was going. I wasn't much of a fan of the County Show.
At Lambton Lion Park I stepped in elephant dung, wearing sandals. Had to sit by myself on the bus back, whereupon Mrs Belshore cleaned me up. Why they had to wait until we got back I've no idea.
Following year, York Railway Museum. Was told to hurry up whilst running over a footbridge. My new satchel flipped open and the things I'd bought (pencils and such like from the gift shop) flew out and were lost on the tracks below.
School trips were just more heartache.
This is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever read 😔
Irony was, last day of primary school, everyone full of euphoria whooping and hollering - not me. I ran home, threw myself on the bed, and cried my heart out. I never wanted to leave.
It all went downhill from there.

Adorable. I always loved school but my primary/junior schools were favourites. They were anti-establishment, "call me Barbara" no school uniform sing Beatles and Beach Boys songs instead of hymns places. We went on excellent school trips too - a fave was seeing Beowulf being performed in the mead hall on a visit to a recreation of an Anglo-Saxon village 👍
Lovely.
It's all we can hope for in life, good memories.
Even the bad memories, well, you know the saying, what doesn't kill you makes you bitter and resentful 🤠
